TEN POETIC MINDS IN INDIAN ENGLISH POETRY

TEN POETIC MINDS IN INDIAN ENGLISH POETRY

Poets included for study, exhibit unparallel poetic range of universality and catholicity as one scrutinizes poetic output that continues to grow with amazing rapidity. Poets are conscious of man’s anguish as they live in difficult times and  try to touch a realistic world and earmark definite parameters of emotional upsurge.

They appear quite worried about Indian mind. Native consciousness continues to travel in verses with an idealistic frame and philosophical dimensions. They are genuine in efforts to reach truth of existence, and interpret life at the experiential and theoretical level with intensity.

Truth in various shades is the fountainhead of verses of poets, who not only articulate anxiety for Indian culture and heritage but through lyrics, try to comprehend depths of reality and its universal dimensions, and in a subtle process, encompass humanity.

Poets included are Rabindranath Tagore, Daruwalla, Shiv K. Kumar, Jayanta Mahapatra, Hazara Singh, Syed Ameeruddin, O. P. Arora, R. K, Bhushan, D C Chambial and R. K. Singh.
